The Lady Knights are going dancing! For the fourth consecutive year the Lady Knights
soccer team will make an appearance in the national tournament, this year in the USCAA
Division 2 championships.
For those who don’t know, Southwestern Adventist athletics has dual membership in two collegiate leagues, the NCCAA, and the USCAA. SWAU’s primary membership belongs to the USCAA, but the school’s athletic teams qualify for the USCAA championships depending on rankings. The Lady Knights, who finished the season with an 11-3 record, ended their season number 1 in the USCAA coach’s poll, and punched their ticket to the national tournament as the number two seed. Last week, the Knights suffered a tragic loss in the NCCAA regional championship game to Randall University, so the ladies hope to bounce back from that with a chance at the USCAA title.
The Lady Knights are led by the regional player of the year Amanda Quiniones, and all-regional members Lexie Key and Julie Baur, All-Regional members, and look to capture their first USCAA National Championship.
The tournament is held in Coraopolis, Pa., and the Lady Knights will be matched up against Paul Smith's College at 12:45 p.m. tomorrow.
